Holyoke Credit Union (HCU) Board of Directors would like to announce the winners of the 2023 Holyoke Credit Union Scholarship.

Dennis Moran, Thomas Paquin and Michael Ghazil, members of the HCU Board of Directors, and members of the Scholarship Committee, were given the task of choosing the recipients of the HCU scholarships.  This year, from a field of 20 applicants, Jaycalee Santos, Kylie Turgeon and Billy Flaherty were chosen. 

Each recipient received $500 to put toward his/her college expenses. 

Ms. Santos, daughter of Tanairie Montijo and Benjamin Santos of Holyoke, is a recent graduate of Holyoke High School.  Jaycalee is planning to attend Boston College in the fall, majoring in Neuroscience. She has been actively involved in food drive projects. While in high school, Jaycalee was a part of student government, where she was a student ambassador and student representative.

Ms. Turgeon, daughter of Nicole and Marc Turgeon of Feeding Hills, is a recent graduate of Agawam High School.  Kylie is planning to attend Westfield State University in the fall, majoring in Psychology.  She is a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member of the Cheerleading team all four years and was chosen to be captain in her senior year.

Mr. Flaherty, son of Nancy and William Flaherty of West Springfield, is a recent graduate of West Springfield High School.  Billy is planning to attend Quinnipiac University, majoring in Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience.  Billy was the Class of 2023 Treasurer. During school Billy was the Captain of the varsity indoor and outdoor track team.  He also volunteered many hours with Meals on Wheels.
